"Why black & white? Because it emphasises graphic structure, which is one of the foundations of my photography. Colour can sometimes compete with that. I also like it for its historical lineage. When I shoot black & white I feel like I'm taking part in a long tradition. Maybe that makes my photos old-fashioned looking, but I like to feel I'm keeping it fresh."
